This of course would depend upon the kind of business you are running. A reliable ISP (Internet Service Provider) is also of essence. Even if your business isn’t directly related to the Internet, it is a valuable source of business-related information. How can you possibly function without e-mail? A dedicated phone line for your business would also be a great addition to your home-office.

Besides the basics, there are other technological devices that can make working in your home-office much more productive; a fax machine, a copier, a printer / scanner, these are but some important devices you should have.

Space and energy consumption are often a consideration in choosing your home-office equipment, and you may not have room for a separate copier, fax machine, printer, and scanner. Combination machines can save both space and energy because you can eliminate the standby losses of having four machines.

But again, the right home-office equipment will be highly dependent on the type of business you are running from home. Take utmost care in purchasing equipments; you don’t want to end up with an incredibly sophisticated and expensive investment for a small scale business venture.
