The most important decision in setting-up your home office is perhaps choosing the right home office desks for you.
Some may not have realized it but studies in recent yeas have proven that the furniture we use in office settings (desks, chairs, etc.) has a direct impact on work productivity. Ergonomics is one part of the equation. The idea is to choose office furniture that allows your body to be in the proper positions as you perform your duties. This reduces negative physical effects, such as sitting without the proper back and leg support, typing in an awkward position because your desk is not at the correct distance or height, and other considerations.
Most people find convenient excuses to do other things when their bodies are being stressed by poorly designed furniture. Even when you know work needs to be done, you come up with excuse to stand up and get away from your desk as you try to achieve some level of comfort away from what is causing your tension. The end result of all of this is, of course, low productivity.
Another major factor involving your choice of home office desks and your work productivity is organization. Smaller desktops are usually a bad investment because they either make you to pile up important papers in an unorganized manner or to put them somewhere out of the way. Ultimately it is sensible to purchase a larger desk where there is more room to store and organize your files.
